Women’s Cornerstone Ministry is an opportunity for women of the community to revitalize and deepen their spiritual lives through a combination of quiet reflection, prayer, social interaction and most importantly, by sharing the story of one’s own faith journey throughout life, with each other.
Like the story of the women on the road to the empty tomb on that first Easter morning, (Mark 16: 1-11), the women of the St. James’ Women’s Cornerstone share their stories, lives, prayers and friendships, as they journey deeper into their own personal and spiritual relationships with God. The Women’s Cornerstone ministry offers a chance for women to travel together, to invite others to come along and remind each other of Jesus' words, “Be not afraid”. Together, participants of Women’s Cornerstone Ministry strive to “Seek and Share the Risen Love.”
Participation in this ministry begins with a unique weekend experience that takes place at St. James Church each fall. The weekend is planned and coordinated by women of the parish and takes place in a casual atmosphere. It is an opportunity for ordinary women to step back from their busy lives and deepen their relationship with God and their faith community, in an extraordinary way. Since October, 2013, when St. James’ Women’s Cornerstone held its first weekend experience, a total of 63 women have participated in this ministry.

After attending the Cornerstone weekend, participants are invited to become members of the Cornerstone Team, as a way to further build upon and deepen their weekend spiritual experience and community fellowship. Cornerstone Team meets monthly, throughout the year in the St. James Parish Center.
