Wedding Music Preparations

Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming celebration of the sacrament of Holy Matrimony! The Catholic Community of Hopewell Valley wishes to support you and help you prepare for this blessed day by working with you to form a musical plan for the liturgy or ceremony.

"The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament" (CCC 1601). Therefore, the Rite of Christian Marriage, being expressed and performed either within the context of the Mass or through a separate ceremony, is approached with love and joy as well as maturity and reverence.

Couples should review the Wedding Music Fees & Policies and Wedding Music Repertoire documents below. We request that you do not schedule any musicians prior to your meeting with the deacon or priest who is guiding your marriage preparations.

At least six months before the wedding, couples must fill out the Wedding Music Form below as a first step to planning their music. The Director of Music will then contact the couple and review their responses and support the music preparations as needed by the couple.
