The Catholic Community of Hopewell Valley has several men and women trained by the diocese and certified by the Bishop to act as advocates for those seeking to have a prior marriage annulled by the church. Annulment advocates work with those petitioning the diocesan tribunal, helping them to prepare petitions, providing guidance, support, and understanding throughout this process. This ministry also provides information and education to parishioners in general regarding the annulment process.

The Catholic Community of Hopewell Valley fondly celebrates the one-year anniversary of those Baptized at the Parish with a hand-mailed card. Each minister mails a card to each Baptism recipient for the month. A minimum of 12 ministers is needed -- one for each month of the year. Cards, a list of home addresses, and procedure directions are provided. At the onset of each month the ministry leader gives a reminder call to the minister designated for that month.

The Catholic Community of Hopewell Valley acknowledges our grieving parishioners who have recently lost loved ones with this ministry. Twelve ministers are required and two sets of index cards are filed: one for the deaths for the present year and one for those of previous years. For the first set, cards are mailed to the families to acknowledge the one month anniversary. For the second set of index cards, similar cards are mailed to acknowledge the one year anniversary of the death of their loved ones. The ministry leader gives a reminder call to each minister at the end of his/her designated month.

The goal of the Respect Life Committee is to promote the value of life from conception to natural death within our parish communities. We support local crisis pregnancy centers, and organize a yearly trip to Washington, DC to attend the March for Life, as well as occasional prayer vigils and holy hours for life. We work closely with the Diocesan Respect Life Ministry and the Mercer County Respect Life Committees. We welcome participation and support from all parish communities in The Catholic Community of Hopewell Valley.

Our community ministry for Separated and Divorced seeks to reach out to our brothers, sisters, and their families of all faiths who experience the pain of separation and divorce. In the process of meeting together, utilizing videos, group discussions and guest speakers, we will grow in our faith, support each other and become better individuals. We encourage an atmosphere of connection and trust. We are a family, where it is safe to be ourselves. Our hope is that we will gain happiness and joy so we can experience a better, more fulfilled life in our commitment to God and ourselves.
