The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded 130 years ago by the Venerable Father Michael McGivney at St. Mary’s parish in New Haven, CT, the Knights uphold four key principles as pillars of the order: Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Father McGivney also charged the Knights two primary missions: To help widows and orphans and to oppose persecution of and discrimination against Catholics. Each fraternal year the organization performs a variety of service activities designed to advance each of these principles and missions.
The Knights of Columbus Hopewell Council 7103 consists of members from Four parishes: St. James, St. George, St. Alphonsus, and St. Charles. Council meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Parish. In addition to the monthly meeting, the Knights are involved in numerous activities and projects throughout the year within the parishes, as well as the local surrounding communities. The Knights are always actively recruiting practicing Catholic men over the age of 18.
