“Indeed, the whole created world eagerly awaits the revelation of the sons of God… All creation groans and is in agony even until now. Not only that, but we ourselves, although we have the Spirit as firstfruits, groan inwardly while we await the redemption of our bodies. In hope we were saved…. And hoping for what we cannot see means awaiting it with patient endurance.” (Romans 8:19-25)
The Season of Creation spans five weeks between World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation (September 1) and the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi (October 4). “As people of faith we are called to lift the hope inspired by our faith, the hope of the resurrection. This is not a hope without action but one embodied in concrete actions of prayer and preaching, service and solidarity.” (Season of Creation Celebration Guide)
Throughout the Community of Hopewell Valley we will have opportunities to participate at all three parishes. Watch the bulletin, website and Facebook for details.
