The Way of the Cross with the Women of the World…
And the Men Who Care About Them
Including Prayer Around the Cross – ALL are Welcome!
With growing awareness of the particular struggles that girls and women experience worldwide, let us join together to pray the way of the cross in solidarity with women. This version, published by The Pastoral Center, was written by Carol Pisani, a pastoral minister and the wife of our music director.
The Stations of the Cross offers Christians a tremendous privilege: to walk along on Jesus’ journey as he carried his cross to Calvary. However, to stay in those events of 2,000 years ago is to miss the greatest privilege and opportunity of all—to walk the critical moments of the life, suffering, and death of Christ in the here and now.
These stations were designed to walk mindfully in solidarity with women. We live in a rapidly changing world. Yet the challenges of women worldwide remain particularly startling. These challenges awaken all of us, giving great pause to consider their suffering in our midst. However, while these prayers focus on women, they are meant to be used by the entire community, by all men and women who are concerned about the suffering Christ in our world today.
