Paul was the first great Christian theologian. What do you know about him and his incredibly rich vision of who we are in relation to Christ? Since he left no document of systematic theology, we must turn to the letters he wrote to understand how he worked through the many intriguing questions that Christ’s life, death and resurrection had posed, and how he applied his vision to the practical issues the early churches had to deal with in the mid-first century Mediterranean world. Join Deacon Dick as he explores Paul’s earliest letters to the Christian communities he founded—the earliest writings of our Christian scripture—and watch the emergence of Christian theology from its Jewish parent within its Greek culture.
There will be parallel morning and evening sessions every other week for your convenience beginning September 30 at 7pm and October 1 at 10am.
