It’s FREE tree time! The Catholic Community of Hopewell Valley is partnering with Neighborhood Forest to provide free trees for kids to plant during Earth Week. Each child is eligible to receive a free tree. Please note that your tree will be planted by you and your child on your own property. Parents/guardians, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and neighbors sign your child(ren) up for a free tree by March 15th! Sign up using this link: https://www.neighborhoodforest.org/parent-registration/?school=100435
Trees species will be carefully selected to be native species that will grow well in our area. They are set to arrive in time for Earth Day 2025, April 22. Trees will be distributed at each of our parishes. We will be in touch with you regarding when and where you can pick up your tree!
“Out of the ground the Lord God caused every tree to grow that is pleasing to the sight and good for food.” Genesis 2:9
Trees provide numerous benefits. They reduce the level of CO2 in the atmosphere and increase oxygen, they remove air pollution, their shade cools the earth, they provide habitat for birds and other animals, they filter pollution from groundwater, and they are a food source. Who can deny that trees are a source of beauty that can decrease our stress and increase our happiness?
