The feast day of St. Alphonsus is commemorated on August 1st. Our patron saint was ordained a priest in 1726 and went on to become a bishop and a theologian. He founded the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, the Redemptorists. St. Alphonsus endured the debilitating pain of arthritis until the age of 91, and is the patron saint of those who suffer from arthritis. A stained-glass window in the church bears the likeness of St. Alphonsus and was donated in 1921. There is also a beautiful tapestry that hangs in the vestibule donated in 2002.
