There are probably times when you come to Mass and no one seems to notice you. And there are other times when you are greeted at the door by a smiling face and a friendly hello. At St. James some of those smiling faces belong to members of the “Greeting” Ministry. They usually stand near the front door and make sure that visitors and regulars alike feel welcome as they arrive at Mass. They hand things out, answer questions, and generally make us feel at home. The Team took a hiatus during COVID, but we are ready to start it up again.
All of us have a part to play in hospitality as we greet each other and are present to one another. But some of us have a special gift of hospitality to share as a Greeter. Think about it. Pray about it. What are your gifts? How are you being called? This is an especially good ministry for children and their families.
