St. James Women’s Personal Care Items Collection Box

Lack of access to women’s personal care supplies is closely tied to poverty and under-resourced communities. 

Much like diapers, personal care supplies are not covered by most federally funded public assistance programs because they are not food items. Personal care poverty is a public health issue, resulting in mental health issues, including feelings of shame, hopelessness, and isolation, as well as poor bodily hygiene and significant risks to physical well-being.

Beginning this month, St. James will have a labeled  women’s personal supply collection box located in the coat closet on the left as you enter the church.  Your generously donated items will be distributed to local charitable organizations serving impoverished families and people in need (TASK, HomeFront, Mount Carmel Guild, and others).

Women’s Personal Care Items Needed:

· Pads and Tampons - multi-sizes

· Incontinence Pads

· Maternity Pads

· Panty Liners

· Period Proof Underwear
