Isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a dramatic increase in drug addiction. Catholic Charities Behavior Health Services supports adults and children suffering from addiction. We have produced a short YouTube video that explains our programs. Click the link to learn more about this program.
The Catholic Community of Hopewell Valley is installing short distance radio transmitters in St. James and St. George for Christmas. They will reach your car only in the parking lot areas. As you enter the parking lot, there will be a lawn sign which will give you the station's call letters. Park and tune your car radio to the FM station listed on the sign. At Communion time, walk to the front entrance of the Church and a minister will distribute Communion there. This is only available for the Masses on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at St. George and St. James. If we are able to provide this after Christmas, an announcement will be made at a later date.
We all need healing at one point or another. The Sacrament of Confession brings healing to us. If it's been a while, that's okay. St. James Friday December 18th, 9am until 9pm.
As you are aware the number of cases in NJ is continuing to spike. After a very thorough review, we are announcing that the 2020-2021 CYO basketball season will not be held. This decision was based on a survey conducted with our parishes & schools in addition to consultation with the CYO Board of Trustees, the Diocese of Trenton administration, & our Athletic Council. While it is disappointing for all of us to not play in our 68th consecutive season of Mercer County CYO Basketball, this decision is based on the safety of everyone involved. We look forward to resuming CYO Basketball next season.
If you would like to help others this Christmas season, please consider donating to one of the four charitable organizations listed (please click the image for details). We would ask that you make a donation directly to them. Due to COVID concerns, paper cards detailing your donations will not be available this year. If you would like an email acknowledgement of your donation that could be forwarded to your friend or family member, please send a copy of your donation receipt to one of the contacts indicated.
